<DC-IRC> [Discord] <lanefu> @microlinux gave me an UHS overlay for RK3399... def a win on pbp
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <igorpec> we are the only distro that tests upgrades on hw, so alternative is using no upgrades
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <lanefu> yeah I know I just got burned too many times and switched to just manually installings debs i built when i'm comfortable upgrading
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <lanefu> i know its hard..
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <igorpec> well, that is why "freeze" was made 😉
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <igorpec> to skip that manual part
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <igorpec> with limited board count, this will only improve ... so back in the days, this was normal. its cheap junk hardware and zero finnacining. its expected to break
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <c0rnelius77> still doesn't explain whats wrong with the headers
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <lanefu> well maybe htey do.. some debs exist... i just remember them getting out of sync easily
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <lanefu> anywya i def can't speak expertly to the current state at all
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <c0rnelius77> I haven't really looked, so I can't say. But anything the kernel would depend on and might be subject change in the future should probs be apart of the kernel build. That said, if a boot script is being used on one board and not another of the same platform I could see that being an issue. But with board specific depends in place even that could be worked out.
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <c0rnelius77> well if its just a syncing probs, thats completely diff.
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <c0rnelius77> I don't know shit about that 🙂 never setup a personal apt repo.
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <c0rnelius77> here is an odd one `not RK related` that seems could be resolved with adjusting packaging on the Odroids https://forum.armbian.com/topic/29990-buglatest-kernel-update-makes-odroid-unuseable/
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <c0rnelius77> My first thought is why is a uImage needed in the first place? Why not just include `Image` in the kernel builds and remove the need for this file being created? The script can just always point to Image after that which will be included in the kernel package.

<DC-IRC> [Discord] <c0rnelius77> In theory `unless using some old sbc` this could be applied to every platform and board. When building kernel the file is auto generated and just needs to be included and put in place.

<DC-IRC> [Discord] <lanefu> ....and USB 3 just fell over on my mainline rock5b i think while paired with heavy network IO 😛
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <anjuan> I want to install jammy cli to my orange pi 5 but its not listed in the official page for orange pi 5, where do i get the image?
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <anjuan> i am a day old in the field btw if thats not obvious

<DC-IRC> [Discord] <lanefu> realized rock-5b spi flash isn't showing up in mainline. Naturally it's there in midstream 😛
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <lanefu> 🤔
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <lanefu> well wedging this in there seemed to work
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <lanefu> now if i could just make it work as an overlay
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <lanefu> i set a 15 min timer an hour ago to walk away
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <lanefu> crude but victorious https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/6137
