<joekhoobyar> so, let's say I forgot to run `nand-sata-install` or `armbian-install` after updating my kernel on the opi3b
<DC-IRC>
<joekhoobyar> there's got a be a way to rescue my emmc without starting over, right?
<DC-IRC>
<amazingfate> You can boot from tf card and mount emmc partition
<DC-IRC>
<joekhoobyar> yeah, i'm digging one out now
<DC-IRC>
<joekhoobyar> gonna try a chroot inside of it to fix my problem
<DC-IRC>
<joekhoobyar> i literally just put this board on (one of) the sbc shelves
<DC-IRC>
<joekhoobyar> heh
<DC-IRC>
<joekhoobyar> updating the bootloader on emmc from inside the chroot not working so far
<DC-IRC>
<joekhoobyar> going to try the MTD flash option
<DC-IRC>
<joekhoobyar> at least now it's booting from SD and the root is on EMMC
<DC-IRC>
<joekhoobyar> may have to hack the bootloader back on the emmc by manually doing what armbian-install does
<DC-IRC>
<joekhoobyar> I'm wondering now if the provided u-boot even supports emmc? it used to boot from emmc, I had no sd card in place at all
<DC-IRC>
<microlinux> Yes, I also has to install uboot to the mtd to run from emmc
<DC-IRC>
<amazingfate> I haven't flash uboot to spi flash, but emmc boots.
yang2_ is now known as yang2
<DC-IRC>
<microlinux> Yep, it happened on me bc I used pine64 emmcs
