<amazingfate> Sry for that, I will upload a new one
<Armbian-Discord>
<EfeCTN> Probably has some patches from linux next
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> looks like pine stuff for their gigantic 88 devboard on top of sre's branch
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> @rpardini Tested that edge2 kernel branch you remerged.. so far so good..
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> really? does it boot?
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> yep
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> damn, wasn't expecting that
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Linux kedge 5.10.110-kedge2+ #1 SMP Mon Feb 13 09:51:06 EST 2023 aarch64 GNU/Linux
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> was expecting maybe almost boots
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> even booting off a usb 3 stick
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> great news. I'm sure @NicoD will be thrilled to test it out
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> I had my existing root on it and it dropped right in
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> good news Tenkawa, thanks for the effort
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> np.. now for some fun forward patch attempting
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> yeah I've tried a few and gave up
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> I couldn't find a decent base
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> it's not android12-5.10-lts
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Yay... even the MCU is working
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> it's not mainline 5.9-rc8 like git says it is
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> so any forward-things have to be cherry picked manually from android base... really... not worth it
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> no.. Its not going anywhere outside this 5.10 tree without a massive amount of rework
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> I do think it's worth trying to rebase on rk3.6
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> A fair amount of 5.10 mainline can be pulled
<Armbian-Discord>
<EfeCTN> I think it's based on old 2.6 kernel
<Armbian-Discord>
<EfeCTN> And very mess
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> nope. if you git fetch all the stuff (mainline, android, etc) and the rk kernel, you will find (git tag -l --merged <rkbranch>) that 5.9-rcX is the base
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> they then developed on that for a few months / thousand commits
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> then merged an android 5.10 lts on top, manually
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> then some 3k commits on top of that, then another rebase from android
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> repeat, etc.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Well since I run headless I got it up to this with no problem:
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Linux kedge 5.10.118-kedge2+ #2 SMP Mon Feb 13 11:50:57 EST 2023 aarch64 GNU/Linux
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> But now I have to deal with some conflicts with crypto
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> time to analyze how to merge the changes
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> and @Tenkawa -- I suppose you're using the uboot already in the SPI on the kedge2? or building your own?
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> I'd have to use c0rnelius which we ended up using
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> We ran a few experiments
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> I mean... the I/O board possibly allows you to use u-boot on SD
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> but most ppl will be restricted to khadas' own on SPI // oowow stuff
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Yeah I'm not using oowow
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> That I can say
<Armbian-Discord>
<c0rnelius> pretty sure you just flashed the loader
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> I still to this day haven't even seen the ui
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> I flashed it from a microsd on my io board
