<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> Isn't it supported? Would find that weird. @rpardini is mentioned as maintainer.
<DC-IRC>
<Werner> Board config is .csc for some reason
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> @werner I can't remember the name of that website we use for bug reports. Should I create one for this? And what's the name again? Stupid brains letting me down...
<DC-IRC>
<rpardini> (Ehh... before anyone does anything, I no longer own a working N2+, so probably shouldn't be listed as maintainer...)
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> Then best to find someone else who is willing to do this. I can mention it in a video in hope someone is willing.
<DC-IRC>
<tenkawa42> Are N2+ all cursed? (mine no longer works)
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> Not that I know. Mine works but is out of use. Wasn't it a power surge that broke yours?
<DC-IRC>
<tenkawa42> Yeah.. lightning... it was the only thing that got taken out though
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> Just testing C2 and no USB it seems. I remember reading about that a while ago.
<DC-IRC>
<c0rnelius77> knock on wood, but both mine still run and I live in a lightning prone area.
<DC-IRC>
<tenkawa42> My N2 is humming along and went righ through that same storm no problem
<DC-IRC>
<tenkawa42> My N2 is humming along and went right through that same storm no problem
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> 😦
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> those boards have been trouble forever with the gpio-supply powering the port
<DC-IRC>
<tenkawa42> No USB is what happened to my N2+
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> yeah that was a design bug on Hardkernel's part
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> for the C2 it's just a gpio pin runs the power to the ports, and it keeps getting changed how the kernel handles it
<DC-IRC>
<tenkawa42> Sounds like the goofup Pine did on the Star64...
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> Pitty that such an old and good board still has issue's +6 years after it's released.
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> well, the hardware is fine 😄
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> I don't need USB for my tests. But it's still one of my favorite boards because it's done such an amazing job back then.
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> but yes, it's annoying that this issue keeps popping back up
<DC-IRC>
<tenkawa42> Pine has this glitch: The USB over-current protection is not wired up correctly to the USB ports on Star64. The default Starfive Kernel will disable USB on boot as it belives the ports are overcurrent. This ugly hack works around it:
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> barf
<DC-IRC>
<tenkawa42> yeah theres an ugly hack to fix it
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> for C2 it is super simple, it's a GPIO-hog, but at one point it was hacked in like it was an LED
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> lol, as I mentioned, I'm blind 🙂
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> ahhh ok 😄
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> And leave that usbquirks line?
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> I know nothing about that line
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> so probably best to let it be 😄
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> Re-testing it now.
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> Yes, that works.
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> ok. 6.2+ hardcode that into the driver, Christian added it, I'll see how that looks like for 6.3, then see if that reassignment of the reset makes that still necessary
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> 6.1 was such a disappointing kernel to wind up as an LTS 😄
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> If I need to test something let me know.
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> Imanaged to find my C2
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> All I needed was benchmarks for Khadas VIM video. Don't have the VIM1 but do have the C2...
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> that's not entirely fair though, the ODroid binary blobs allow better clock rates than the VIM1 will
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> and the vim1 is an S905X
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> I know, it's not OC.
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> Really? I thought it was S905 as C2.
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> no, it's an S905X. so you could use potato
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> if you have one
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> Indeed.
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> Well, it's close. I do have le potato.
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> And have to make a video about it, so no time wasted with testing it.
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> yeah 6.3 "just works"
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> Then that's good for the future.
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> 6.1 is going to haunt us a while longer
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> so
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> let me just pull that quirk patch back to 6.1 and see
<DC-IRC>
<nicod_sbc> No Jammy XFCE4 image for le potato.
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> wtf
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> ok, C2 patch from 6.2 + added to 6.1. @igorpec a rebuild for the C2 images should happen once that is merged
