Sony does not use modem switcher anymore I think... Now I have no idea how to make the system select the right modem
<clfbbn>
But Open Devices seems to use modem-switcher for switching modem (also on newer devices)
<LuK1337>
maybe it does it automatically?
<LuK1337>
just like on sane qcom device
<LuK1337>
also open devices shipping .rc file doesn't mean they actually have that shit in /odm
<clfbbn>
I am afraid not.. Because when I flash SEA firmware and insert a Chinese SIM card, there will be no signal at all
<LuK1337>
ah good old sony
<clfbbn>
I think the odm image is provided as binary in open devices
<LuK1337>
yes
<LuK1337>
but the contents of it differ
<LuK1337>
i tried to unpack android 12 one for some newer device
<LuK1337>
and it didn't have modem switcher
<clfbbn>
That's interesting. From what I can infer from the Alin from open device group, he made the modem work (at least on sm8250 devices) by mentioning the service "modem_switcher" "vendor.somc.hardware.modemswitcher@1.0-service"
<clfbbn>
Let me take a look at the odm image..
<LuK1337>
consider just getting a better phone next time
<LuK1337>
don't punish yourself with more sony
<clfbbn>
True. That said, it is the only "modern" phone that does not have a notch
<LuK1337>
ehh
<LuK1337>
i've been using phones with notch for 4 years now
