digetx: I have one question, have you tried to get tegraDRM (or simpleDRM) working on tegra tablets? @mighty17 has seen that it can improve a lot of performance in some mobile UIs (e.g., Phosh), because omapDRM is supported on our tablet (it's an omap device, without a working GPU running mainline). Have a look at the videos in https://gitlab.com/postmarketOS/pmaports/-/issues/1481 . Since we have tegraDRM on mainline, is it possible to get it

working on tablets, so we can get other UI available with this kind of hardware acceleration? P.S.: Currently Phosh session crashes with `Failed to start DRM session`

lucaceresoli: Host I/F should be host1x bus, like other hos1x device could feed data to CSI; maybe it was used for testing only, it also could be a legacy pre-T20 interface that isn't actually supported by T20

aat596: in general you shouldn't notice a difference if Phosh was using fbdev because fbdev is emulated on top of DRM, but I don't know for how Phosh actually works and what it does; the generic DRM should work on all devices and you won't get h/w acceleration with it, DRM is API/interface, it's userspace driver that provides acceleration using DRM, you won't get accel just by using DRM for displaying

digetx: and what about the "VIP" interface? is it correct to assume that it is parallel video input?
