<mischief>
hm, how do i extrude the inner faces after using difference extrusion on text?
<mischief>
making a nametag thing where the text is cut out of a rectangle, but for letters like A and R i need to attach the inner pieces for 3d printing
<ghane>
mischief: for that usecase, wouldn't it work well to just not cut the text all the way through the rectangle?
ghane has quit [Changing host]
ghane has joined #solvespace
<mischief>
ghane: i want the text to be 'holes' though :-)
<mischief>
i want to attach the inner pieces of A and R but not sure how
<freem>
I have the same problem lol
<freem>
the idea I thuoght is, my father needs this for painting with a spray
<freem>
so, I could build "U" to join the inner and outter letters, the spray should be able to colour the underside despite this, if the "U" is high enough
<mischief>
i wanted to make this as a keychain for my mother
<ghane>
if it is ok with "manual" work I would just add some rectangles fixing them from the top or bottom surface of the rectangle
<freem>
there's also transparent filaments, but I have no experience with those
<ghane>
transparent filaments would work if it is ok to not have it cut out for the keychain
<ghane>
but filament swapping would be a pain :)
<ghane>
would waste half a spool to purge the color when switching to transparent
<mischief>
i just have solid filament. not a problem if i just make the connectors small.
