ocdtrekkie: Yes. Newest Meteor code is only compatible with MongoDB 5.x . There has been many code changes to WeKan to make it compatible with newest Meteor and MongoDB.

Yeah, my thinking is if Ian builds a standalone tool to upgrade the Mongo in Sandstorm we can use it for Wekan grains as well.

Yes.
<xet7>
Currently WeKan migrations change MongoDB database schema to newest structure. WeKan has features to move attachments from MongoDB to filesystem. But seems that's not enough, I got request to build separate migration tool, that transfers attachments from current MongoDB 3.x version directly to AWS S3, because MongoDB database size is about 500 GB, most of it just attachments. Without attachments, size could be about 7 GB.
<xet7>
Also running migrations is slow when database size is 500 GB, it can take 4 hours to update structure etc.
<xet7>
That's why I have been thinking about some way to not do migrations, like some database abstration layer

Some anyway have hurry to get some fixes to current Meteor WeKan, and I try to keep all features still working while making some internal changes, so it remains to be seen when and what happens

Getting WeKan to be upgraded to newest Meteor did take about one year, if not more, with help from many contributors
