<skeemer> hello everyone i was wondering if racket is viable as a programming language for creating serious projects or if it is mostly for educational purposes
<bremner> skeemer: I think that will depend a lot on your definition of "serious projects".
<bremner> and on you.
<skeemer> bremner: like i was in doubt if starting with racket or clojure
<skeemer> i read the little schemer which can basically be followed with any implementation
<skeemer> but now have to go on with the seasoned schemer and it's a lot of continuations
<skeemer> clojure does not have continuations so i was wondering on which implementation to focus
<bremner> well, racket certainly has good support for continuations.
<bremner> I don't know much about clojure, but people speak positively of the immutable data structure support.
<skeemer> also another question i had was... is there anything like pandas and matplotlib in racket?
<skeemer> like data manipulation libraries and data plotting modules
<bremner> there is plot, which is IMHO as good as matplotlib
<bremner> pandas I'm less sure about, that's a big library with lots of functionality
<bremner> there are a couple of packages related to data-frames. tabular-asa, and data-frame were some I found in a quick search
<bremner> they are unlikely to have the huge community of users that pandas does
<skeemer> bremner: what about machine learning
<skeemer> anything like scikit-learn ?
<bremner> dunno
<skeemer> ok ok
