Hi everyone, it's time to begin the weekly OVN developers' meeting.
<amusil>
Hi
zhouhan has joined #openvswitch
<mmichelson>
I've been bogged down in the world of making CentOS builds. I did some code reviews yesterday. I'm working on an issue regarding allowing persistent connections to remain on ACLs that no longer match (https://issues.redhat.com/browse/FDP-815).
<mmichelson>
The biggest thing is that I'm planning to do point releases of supported upstream versions tomorrow. dceara told me to try to integrate the OVS submodule bumps, but aside from that, if anyone has patches they want to try to get in before the next point release, let me know.
<mmichelson>
I'll put out the release patches later today.
<mmichelson>
That's all from me. Who'd like to go next?
<_lore_>
hi all
<amusil>
It doesn't seem that we have a huge audience :) I can probably
<mmichelson>
go ahead amusil
<amusil>
Spent most of the week investigating how feasible it is to reuse NB uuid in SB for things that have 1:1 rows e.g. LBs
<amusil>
So far it seems doable, I plan to post the series either to tomorrow or early next week
<amusil>
That's it
<zhouhan>
amusil: is it for performance?
<amusil>
The first step is to have the mapping
<amusil>
Then we can think about perfomance improvements in northd
<amusil>
But yeah it should reduce at least memory footprint to some extent
<zhouhan>
amusil: cool, so the motivation is both performance and memory?
<amusil>
And to make it easier to debug
<zhouhan>
amusil: I see, sounds great
<mmichelson>
OK, thanks amusil . Who's next?
<zhouhan>
I can
<zhouhan>
I continued working on the OVSDB memory spike after schema upgrade at scale
<zhouhan>
I implemented a naive traffic shaping that is effective to our needs, but I think it is not good enough for upstream :(
<zhouhan>
I will do some code reviews today and tomorrow
<zhouhan>
That's it from me
<mmichelson>
THanks zhouhan!
<mmichelson>
Anyone else?
<mmichelson>
OK, I guess that's everyone then. Thanks and have a good day!
<zhouhan>
thanks, bye
<mmichelson>
Bye!
