tomba: yeah - the serial port stuff gets in the way. Though, i work directly on the board without serial port.
<NishanthMenon>
i just plugin the mini-dp to my monitor and use keyboard and mouse..
<NishanthMenon>
upstream kernel does work to display.
<tomba>
I didn't want to start installing the full image or trying blindly to get it boot from with rootnfs. I ordered the serial adapter from digikey...
<NishanthMenon>
aah gotcha
<NishanthMenon>
yeah - the serial port is irritating.. the prevailing wisdom for the choice of that connector is because it was already used on am57xx based beaglebone-ai - and hence provide continuity
<tomba>
it's not very clearly documented. or at least I had trouble finding info about the serial and adapter needed. I think I got a link to digikey's adapter from some forum post.
<tomba>
Ok. Yep, I ordered the BBCAI from digikey.
<NishanthMenon>
cool.. Sorry for the inconvenience.. should have put the foot down harder :(
<tomba>
The adapter should be included in the AI-64 box ;)
<tomba>
Well, I don't know if even that helps, maybe most of the people don't have an FDTI cable. UART via microusb is just so easy... But the board does look quite crowded, so I bet there just was no room.
<NishanthMenon>
tomba: yep.
