<Daanct12> montjoie: sorry but finally i had some time to test out the patch
<Daanct12> which command do i use for benchmarking the CE?
<montjoie> you can try to bench a luks with/without CE
<Daanct12> alright, i'll let you know results later

<dlezcano> Hi all,
<dlezcano> I'm currently facing a boot issue on my rock960 with a 6.6-rc3 kernel
<dlezcano> [ 2.993333] Waiting for root device /dev/mmcblk1p2...
<dlezcano> and then the rest of the initialization if deferred
<dlezcano> Is that a known issue ?
<Daanct12> you're probably missing a kernel driver
<Daanct12> try and diff the old/new config and see
<Daanct12> sometimes it's just the option changing name around and it didnt enable it by default

<Daanct12> montjoie: seems like you need to make a submenu for it
<Daanct12> otherwise it wont compile if you dont select 3288/3399 CE
<Daanct12> next is, sm3_zero_message_hash sha384_zero_message_hash sha512_zero_message_hash are undefined
<Daanct12> make it select CONFIG_CRYPTO_SHA512 and CONFIG_CRYPTO_SM3_ARM64_CE should get rid of the error
<Daanct12> although im not sure if we should be using SM3 in driver as the RK3566 has ARMv8.2 crypto extensions and SM3 is a part of it
<montjoie> the hw support SM3, so the driver need to handle it, up to an user to change algo priority
<linkmauve> Daanct12, offloading to a hardware driver means the CPU is free to do other things until the IRQ comes in.
<montjoie> oh yes it miss CRYPTO_SHA512
<montjoie> need to select it
<Daanct12> oh wait
<Daanct12> CONFIG_CRYPTO_SM3_GENERIC
<montjoie> I see DEV_CCREE select CONFIG_CRYPTO_SM3_GENERIC, but i dont see why
<montjoie> mmh 2ae6feb1a1f6678fe11864f1b6920ed10b09ad6a has the answer

<Daanct12> montjoie: let me know if you need any other testing, all i can say is the driver works
<Daanct12> i have yet to test md5 and stuffs, will do soon
<montjoie> I am renaming the driver to rk2_crypto, so i will publish another branch before upstreaming
<Daanct12> ok, please let me know when a new version is available so i can test.
<montjoie> this will be soon, I just need to finish dt_binding check

<diederik> Danct12: I had to enable CONFIG_CRYPTO_SM3_GENERIC (too) to make it compile
<diederik> montjoie: dunno if output of `cat /proc/crypto` is useful, but on Pine64 Quartz64 Model A the result is: without patchset: https://paste.debian.net/1294251/ with pathset: https://paste.debian.net/1294252/
<montjoie> rk2_xxx is found so loaded
<diederik> Yep, it appears to be working
