<krzk> Viciouss: keep them in the series, just don't mention in commit messages any dependencies.

<krzk> Viciouss: we slightly misunderstood - I thought to include only that line adding label to charger@6 to previous patch, so the line won't be added and changed immediately. In total patches could be split per charger and battery or could be together - I just did not enforce such choice.
<krzk> Anyway looks good now, so I will apply later today or this weekend.
<Viciouss> krzk: now that I read it again, I'm not sure how I actually misread that.. anyway thanks :)
<Viciouss> I have one more patch for the display and a pwm backlight, that is driven by the exynos pwm driver. it works almost fine, but for some reason, the display turns off when I set the brightness to max value. I remember seeing a line that limits the maximum brightness for the samsung backlight in the vendor kernel but can't find it right now
<Viciouss> on the other hand, the backlight in the vendor kernel is driven by the mdnie driver, so it might also be that it works slighty different there, but it looks like the pwm is somehow involved in it under the covers
<Viciouss> I tried to port mdnie once but got some ugly tearing on the display that stayed a couple of minutes even after restarting, so I abandoned that path
<Viciouss> not sure if the pwm solution would be ok
<krzk> Viciouss: this rings a bell but I don't remember details... so frustrating. :) I also cannot find now such discussion... but I am sure I heard it. Maybe this will help:
<krzk> Viciouss: check if reverting commit 5d82e661398e0 (or applying if you do not have it) helps
<krzk> Viciouss: btw, you can send a patch as RFC with more people on CC, hoping someone has ideas for this PWM/backlight.
