<Darkmatt-> narmstrong, I've read that thread about i2c, i may have a similar problem beacuse `i2cdetect` shows alot of addresses used(but not all the addresses): https://0x0.st/-JwL.txt
<Darkmatt-> i tried to swap the sda and sck gpios in the pinctrl driver(btw why is it called sck, shouldn't it be called scl!) but that didn't change the i2cdetect nor the i2cdump output.
<Darkmatt-> note that i only have one i2c device connected
rtp has quit [Quit: Reconnecting]
<Darkmatt-> in fact even disconnecting the tuner/demod board that is connected to the main board through i2c doesn't change the output(i.e i2cdetect still shows alot of devices connected)
rtp has joined #linux-amlogic
<Darkmatt-> as if the output is hard coded
<Darkmatt-> note that the 3.14 vendor kernel exhibit the same symptoms i2cdetect output: https://0x0.st/-JwJ.txt (address 03-07 exist in the vendor kernel but not the mainline one)
<Darkmatt-> but somehow the vendor driver still works with no pin swapping or hardware modding !
Darkmatt- is now known as Darkmatter66
<narmstrong> Maybe the HW is broken and replies to all i2c adresses
<narmstrong> So you can i2cset et i2cget correctly right ?
<Darkmatter66> narmstrong, well i thought about the HW problem but but why does the vendor kernel works fine with this broken HW?!
<Darkmatter66> narmstrong, `i2cget` shows `Error: Read failed`
<narmstrong> Darkmatter66: well no idea !
<narmstrong> Darkmatter66: put a scope or an analyzer
<narmstrong> Maybe the vendor kernel has been tweaked to make it work
<Darkmatter66> narmstrong, sadly i don't have a scope, but i tried with a multimeter on the sda and sck pins and the same output exist between the vendor and the mainline kernel (around 3.2v)
<narmstrong> Good sign, the pullups are present
