hey... today i spent like an hour trying to fix a TV channel that was refusing to work. eventually it was simply, just something i hadn't thought of doing: deleted the channel, and force-scanned, and it came back and worked (but without deleting it, just force-scanning wouldn't fix it)
<LjL>
so i'm guessing they changed some setting (the mux in general worked, just that channel didn't) and tvheadend didn't pick it up automatically
<LjL>
is there some way to ensure everything happens automatically? i may not always be around to rescan etc... tvheadend should periodically rescan on its own, but that won't help if the scan doesn't fix things until the affected channel is deleted
<LjL>
i'm using a bouquet corresponding to the DVB-T Network, since that seemed to be the only viable way to make any new/modified channels appear automatically without having to run a manual mapping
<LjL>
(if that's relevant)
<mpmc>
LjL: If it's in the bouquet it should just use what it sees.
<mpmc>
I believe the mux settings on how to deal with changes affects that behaviour too.
<LjL>
oof, now the web interface just doesn't load... i was going to ask where exactly you mean by mux settings (presumably Edit under Muxes, but i don't remember what that shows), but now i'll have to way until this show is over to reboot the box :P
<LjL>
my version of tvheadend is probably a bit old at this point since it's running under a CoreElec that's no longer being updated
<LjL>
maybe newer ones would have fewer quirks
<mpmc>
LjL: :o
<LjL>
i don't know, things sometimes just don't work great when you're running them on a €35 tv box ;P
<LjL>
but i can't reboot it right now or the people who finally managed to be watching the channel that wasn't working will be mad!
<mpmc>
LjL: Hey, if you've fixed it, it can wait until free.
<LjL>
indeed
