jaeger: the libbsd README has a typo, which got copied verbatim into the opendkim Pkgfile. LD_LIBRARY_PATH should be /usr/opt/libbsd/lib, not /usr/oprt/libbsd/lib.
<farkuhar>
Actually it was spectrwm 3.6.0 that got me looking into libbsd and its dependents. Prior to 3.6.0, spectrwm was inlining all the necessary libbsd code, but now they want Linux users to install a standalone copy of libbsd.
<farkuhar>
Currently spectrwm is in the opt repo and therefore shouldn't have a dependency in contrib. Whether libbsd gets moved to opt, or spectrwm to contrib, is up to you and jue. For now, I'll just report a successful installation of spectrwm#3.6.0 linked with libbsd.
<jaeger>
No strong preference here but I'll look at the typo, thanks

LD_LIBRARY_PATH is more of an issue during runtime, not when building the package. So the typo didn't affect the build of opendkim. What I find more baffling is that beerman left the opendkim Maintainer field empty.
<beerman>
you seriously find it "baffling" that mistakes can be made?
<farkuhar>
sure, everyone makes mistakes. But that's why we created tooling (like prtverify) to detect the easily-spotted mistakes.
<beerman>
Thanks for the reminder ;-)
<farkuhar>
One argument in favor of moving spectrwm to the contrib repo (rather than moving libbsd and libmd to opt) is that it can then list dmenu as a dependency (in addition to libbsd which is needed for the 3.6.0 version bump). Although spectrwm builds fine without dmenu, for day-to-day usage it loses significant functionality when dmenu is not present.

farkuhar: spectrwm is at 3.6.0 on 3.8, I'll keep it at 3.5.1 for 3.7 cause of the libbsd dependency
<farkuhar>
I should start following the 3.8 development more closely. I'm still getting adjusted to the replacement of glibc with musl on CRUX 3.7. That experiment is going well, for now.
