<stenur> So i have created a push request, maybe next sysklogd will then keep the file mode that the Pkgfile sets
<stenur> (eh, this is of course only for those who use sysklogd's own rotation)
<braewoods> sysklogd seems to have serious issues. it goes to 100% in containers from what I've seen.
<braewoods> syslogd*
<stenur> i wish i would have more time, adding some stuff to busybox sysklogd / unshare / acpid->2 / rdate (-n, -a, [-v]) to get rid of some more things and be EQ everywhere
<stenur> i drive the sysklogd with my patches for two years; even the /var/log/kernel time mismatch has been fixed, it only took an entire year; but given that i still get bug notifications from alpine linux and even python (!) that seems short :)
<stenur> jue: thanks for /usr/src/linux in glibc!
<stenur> Now .. if kmod would add --with-zstd --with-zlib --with-openssl even though all you guys do not need it i would have only sysklog left in my olay
<stenur> (kmod is 167248 bytes with all these enabled)
<stenur> Oh. ;-)) Sorry. _Was_ my olay. Pooh, Jesus.
<farkuhar> two years of patching sysklogd? sounds about right ... you sounded a lot more enthusiastic when you first brought it to our attention, stenur: https://lists.crux.nu/pipermail/crux-contrib/2020-January/000668.html
volgk has quit [Quit: Client closed]
<stenur> Well i am absolutely enthusiastic about the rotate-all and notify extensions
<stenur> I also wrote a manual-browsing-in-less(1) patch in 2014, and just recently created something better on top that gives full OSC-8 browsing power in less(1).
<stenur> That with "regular push request" for gwsw/less.
<stenur> Now that i am (back) at github
<stenur> The next groff with at least provide OSC-8 link support, he unfortunately does not go all the way; maybe in the future he will
<stenur> Unfortunately the Linux people do not seem to take the rsync(1)-remove-from-Makefile, but i have locally patched the Makefile so i can install the headers without rsync(1) around.
