<jake> hello!
<jake> I wish install crux arm on raspberry PI 3 bit i dont know do this. Can someone help me?
<jaeger> Hello
<jaeger> Have you looked at https://crux-arm.nu/SupportedDevices/Raspberrypi3 ? It has a brief 'Installation' section
<jake> i follow this but not worked.
<jaeger> Which part didn't work?
<jake> boot
<jaeger> What happened exactly?
<jake> dont boot.

<jake> ...
<jaeger> Sorry, without more info "dont boot." doesn't really help much
<jake> yeah.
<jaeger> Do you have a display connected? Do you see anything on it?
<jake> but I don't know what is wrong.
<jake> display nothing.
<jaeger> Hrm... I think if it shows nothing it's often that the SD card isn't bootable for some reason
<jaeger> Did you create the partitions like this?
<jaeger> Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type
<jaeger> /dev/mmcblk0p1 * 2048 526335 524288 256M c W95 FAT32 (LBA)
<jaeger> /dev/mmcblk0p2 526336 62357503 61831168 29.5G 83 Linux
<jaeger> The sizes don't have the be the same but the boot flag and type of the first partition matters
<cruxbridge> <pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> jake: Usually the problem starts with boot partition creation
<cruxbridge> <pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> Like jaeger shared, it must be LBA fat32 with boot flag enabled
<cruxbridge> <pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> If you can attach an hdmi output you will be able to see the boot process after fixing the boot issue

<dioniso> works now! thanks jaeger
<cruxbridge> <pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> Great! 3.7 release?
<cruxbridge> <pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> Generic or optimised for the rpi3?
<dioniso> what: boot.tar.xz have kernel 4.19.79 and crux 3.7 arm use 6.12.13-0-lts. what this?
<dioniso> have boot.tar.xz updated?
<dioniso> forget my mistake.
<cruxbridge> <pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> CRUX-ARM doesn’t use a specific kernel, the kernel is directly related to the device. It’s needed a minimal version specific to glibc but it’s low so shouldn’t be there any problem at all
<dioniso> hmm... when be booting the system it requires modules that not found
<dioniso> what I do?
<cruxbridge> <pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> You can compile or cross compile your own
<cruxbridge> <pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> Did you get the kernel from our side?
<cruxbridge> <pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> Must be there a tar.xz with modules…. It need to be uncompressed on /lib/modules
<cruxbridge> <pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> Or just compile/cross compile your own kernel…. Or get a prebuilt kernel from anywhere
<dioniso> cruxbridge: I uncompressed on /lib/modules but the version of kernel modules is different that is on system.
<dioniso> I'm running crux arm 3.7
<cruxbridge> <pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> Give me some minutes to prepare and I’ll check it
<cruxbridge> <pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> May be I can provide an updated kernel/modules package
<r0ni> https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware - prebuilt kernel/modules for rpi devices
<cruxbridge> <pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> here there are the ones which I'm currently using on the rpi3
<cruxbridge> <pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> if you take the boot file, check cmdline.txt and config.txt and adapt them to your needs dioniso
<dioniso> thank you.
<cruxbridge> <pitillo (@pitillo:crux.nu)> np
