[Discord] <rytherz> Hi all! I'm new here and sorry if my question is not proper or totally out of scope.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <rytherz> I'm trying to use arch linux on my `odroid n2`, precisely I'm trying to bring up the AstroArch project (that is only for rpi) and be able to use tigervnc (or the likes) to be able to remotely login into the machine.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <rytherz> The problem is that when I try to use tiger or turbovnc to create a new display (so without using x0vnc), I get a vulkan driver error `VK_ERROR_INCOMPATIBLE_DRIVER`
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <rytherz> I've tried to install vulkan drivers and whatnot, without success.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <rytherz> Here comes into play armbian: using armbian I have no such problem, so I think it's a problem with the kernel and drivers used by me (`linux-aarch64`) - I would love to try to learn something about the linux kernel and it's configuration/compilation and would love to try to install the kernel used by armbian on arch.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <rytherz> I've already downloaded the kernel using the build script with kernel-config command and built it on my arch linux installation, but from there on I'm lost.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <rytherz> Now, is it possible to do what I'm doing? Is there a better thing to do other than trying armbian kernel, like just building a specific driver?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <rytherz> Thank you in advance and sorry again for the strange question

[Discord] <igorpec> armbian and framework would be otherwise be perfect for such projects. project can live in a very small parts, similar to those examples https://github.com/armbian/os/tree/main/userpatches/extensions which we build and provide as standalone images. FYI

[Discord] <rytherz> Thanks for the tip! I've already prepared an "AstroArmbian", it's the current iteration I'm using for my secondary telescope, but since I'm learning arch linux I wanted to try some more complicated things and stepped on this landmine 😄
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <rytherz> But the ability to create a personalized armbian right off the bat it's something I will look into later, maybe an AstroArmbian it's something people would use
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <srepac> yes, arch linux = landmine!
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <rytherz> It's a fun landmine, tho! I know, I look like a masochist 😄
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <srepac> let's just say hard headed people and arch linux go hand in hand
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <narmstrong> Gentoo people are now arch people, and before it was Slackware people
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <Werner> Last time I used Gentoo was about 15 years ago 🙈
